This is not in the running for the contest- but it is one of my favorites from the past year. This is my husband’s grandmother, and it seems to capture the essence of who she is. Whenever I think of her, I most always envision her standing in the kitchen offering us something to eat! The image on the right is my sister-in-law. I just love the colors, the sunlight and the flare. This to me captures a part of my family in everyday life – something to treasure.

Dianne, all of your photos are incredible…However, this one captures a sense of place that surpasses all of the others. I have never been in her kitchen, but when I see this photo, I can almost smell her cooking. Gorgeous. Keep up the great work.
This one may not be in the running, but I think it is so special that you captured a picture of her doing the thing that comes to mind when you think of her. My grandmother played the piano so I treasure the pictures of my grandmother and her boney fingers merrily tapping the keys. She would have been 93 today. Thanks for the wonderful memory.
