I think every one of this baby’s 150 images was to die for! She was an absolute doll! Their home had beautiful architectural and decorative features that made great backgrounds. The neatest part is that I photographed her mommy and daddy’s wedding a few years ago! They were a beautiful bride and groom – no surprise at all to have such a beautiful baby! It is a really neat experience for me to get to watch and be a part of so many people’s lives.

This is one of my best friends and her family. They live in Texas and on a recent visit, I photographed their family during their nighttime routine with their little one – Brynlee. Every night after a bath they sit together on the bed for a little family time. I loved the light in the room. Every one of these pictures make me smile. I know the feeling to hold your daughter in your arms and look down on her. I love dad’s hand on the back of her head – this is a trend I have noticed time and time again when I photograph a dad and baby. I’ve come to recognize it as a tender, loving gesture, and I think it is a moment to treasure.
Top 20 – Life at home…
February 1, 2010This is a sweet sweet family from my church. My small group meets at their home and over the past year I have taken in a wonderful view of their family life – which seems to revolve around mom in the kitchen! Susan is a wonderfully creative cook and always has fun desserts to offer to any and everyone! When she asked me to photograph her family, I asked if we could do a series in the kitchen to capture on film everyday life – My goal was to give the family something tangible to go along with the memories they’ve created over their lifetime. So, I sat back in a corner with my camera and watched while the Heckels made homemade cookies, drank coffee, dad told stories and even tried his hand at juggling.
